FOOT SHAO YIN KIDNEY CHANNEL
“The kidneys govern water; they receive and store the essence from the five zang-organs and six fu-organs.”-Su Wen, Chapter 1 “肾者，主水，受五脏六腑之精而藏之.”FUNCTIONS OF THE KIDNEY
stores essence (Jing) and governs growth, development, and reproduction 肾藏精，主生长、发育与生殖governs the reception of Qi 肾主纳气governs the bones, produces marrow, and connects with the brain 肾主骨、生髓、通于脑bloom is in the hair； opens into the ears and the two Yin (urethra and anus) 其华在发，开窍于耳及二阴OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

Begins: Under the little toe (it doesn't start at the toe tip, but migrates to the sole) 起于小趾之下（并非从小趾尖端开始，而是斜向足底）Foot: Crosses the sole (KD-1), emerges at the navel-shaped bone (navicular tuberosity), circles behind the medial malleolus, and enters the heel.穿过足底（涌泉穴 KD-1），出于舟骨粗隆之下，沿内踝后方绕行，进入跟部Leg: Ascends the posterior-medial aspect of the lower leg (running behind the Spleen and Liver channels).沿小腿内侧后缘上行（位于脾经和肝经之后）Branch 1: From the Kidney, it ascends through the Liver and diaphragm, enters the Lungs, and follows the throat to the root of the tongue. 从肾向上穿过肝和膈肌，进入肺脏，沿喉咙上达舌本（舌根）. Branch 2: From the Lungs, it joins the Heart and disperses into the chest to link with the Pericardium Channel.从肺部出发，络于心脏，流散于胸中，与手厥阴心包经相接Organs: Kidney, Urinary Bladder, Liver, Lung, Heart. 肾、膀胱、肝、肺、心Luo Channel: Connects to the UB channel; treats lower back pain and mental restlessness/fear. 联络足太阳膀胱经；主治腰痛、神志不安（烦心）及恐惧感。Divergent Channel: Connects the Kidney with the Bladder and the Heart (strengthening the Heart-Kidney axis 联络肾与膀胱，并上达心脏（加强心肾相交/心肾轴的联系）。Sinew Channel: Starts under the little toe, follows the Yin surface of the leg to the genitals, and ascends to the nape of the neck. 起于小趾之下，沿腿部阴面（内侧）上行至生殖器，继续向上到达项部（后颈）KD-1 涌泉
Jing-Well point of the Kidney Meridian 肾经之井穴On the sole, in the depression when the foot is in plantar flexion, approximately at the anterior third and the posterior two-thirds of the line from the web between the 2nd and 3rd toes to the back of the heel. Perpendicular insertion 0.5 - 1.0 cun位于足底，当足趾跖屈（脚趾向足心屈曲）时，足心前部凹陷处。具体约在足底第 2、3 趾趾缝纹头端与足跟后端连线的前 1/3 与后 2/3 交点处FUNCTIONS功效

Yuan-Source point of the Kidney Meridian 原穴Shu-Stream point of the Kidney Meridian 输穴，属土On the medial aspect of the foot, posterior to the medial malleolus, in the depression between the tip of the medial malleolus and tendo calcaneus. 在足内侧，内踝后方，当内踝尖与跟腱之间的凹陷处。Perpendicular insertion 0.5 - 1.0 cunFUNCTIONS功效

Xi-Cleft point of the Kidney Meridian 肾经之郄穴On the medial aspect of the foot, posterior and inferior to the medial malleolus, 1 cun directly below KID 3, in the depression of the medial side of the tuberosity of the calcaneum. Perpendicular insertion .3 - .5 cun. 在足内侧，内踝后下方，太溪 (KD-3) 直下1寸，跟骨结节内侧的凹陷中.直刺 0.3 - 0.5 寸FUNCTIONS功效
Regulates menstruation 调经INDICATIONS症状
Irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, prolapse of uterus 月经不调，通经，闭经，子宫脱垂KD-6 照海
Master Point of the Yin Qiao Vessel (couple with LU 7) 八脉交会穴，通于阴跷脉，常与列缺配合使用。On the medial aspect of the foot, in the depression below the tip of the medial malleolus. 在足内侧，内踝尖正下方的凹陷处Perpendicular insertion 0.3 - 0.5 cun.FUNCTIONS功效

Xi-Cleft point of the Yin Qiao Vessel 阴跷脉之郄穴On the medial aspect of the lower leg, 2 cun directly above KID 3, 0.5 cun anterior to KID 7, posterior to the medial border of the tibia. Perpendicular insertion 0.6 - 1.2 cun. 在小腿内侧，内踝尖上 2 寸（太溪 KD-3 直上 2 寸）。位于复溜 (KD-7) 前 0.5 寸，紧贴胫骨内侧缘后方。直刺 0.6 - 1.2 寸。FUNCTIONS功效

Xi-Cleft point of the Yin Wei Vessel 阴维脉之郄穴On the medial aspect of the lower leg, 5 cun directly above KID 3, on the line connecting KID 3 and KID 10, at the medial and inferior end of the belly of m. gastrocnemius.Perpendicular insertion 1.0 - 1.5 cun. 在小腿内侧，内踝尖上 5 寸。具体在太溪 (KD-3) 与阴谷 (KD-10) 的连线上，腓肠肌腹下内方，直刺1.0-1.5寸。FUNCTIONS功效

He-Sea point of the Kidney Meridian 合穴，属水When the knee is flexed, the point is on the medial side of the popliteal fossa, between the tendons of m. semitendinosus and semimembranosus. Perpendicular insertion 1.0 - 1.5 cun. 屈膝时，在腘横纹内侧，半腱肌肌腱与半膜肌肌腱之间。直刺 1.0 - 1.5 寸。FUNCTIONS功效
