元音字母的读音规则：

单元音与双元音的区别

1．音素数量不同：单元音只有一个元音，而双元音有两个。

单元音共12个，其中/ɑː//ɔː//ɜː//iː//uː//æ/为长元音；/ʌ//ɒ//ə//I//ʊ//e/为短元音。长短元音有对应关系。

双元音为单元音的组合，共8个，/aI//eI//ɔI//Iə//eə//ʊə//aʊ//əʊ/

2．发音不同：单元音发音时，舌位、唇形、开口度始终不变；双元音中的发音牵涉到两种不同的舌位，并且从其中一种舌位滑动到另一舌位。

双元音音素发音的注意事项：

双元音音素由两个元音组成，发音时由一个元音向另一个元音滑动，口型有变化。前一个元音发音清晰响亮，且时间长；后一个元音发音模糊软弱，且时间短。特别要注意的三点是：

(1)不要将前后两个音断开，而应连贯成一个整体；

(2)不要因为后一个元音发音短小而将其忽略；

(3)发音时滑动过程要完整，时间要充分。
