The secretary told me that Mr. Harmsworth would see me. I felt very nervous when I went into his office. He did not look up from his desk when I entered. After I had sat down, he said that business was very bad. He told me that the firm could not afford to pay such large salaries. Twenty people had already left. interrupt：打断；强调使活动中断，比如打断谈话、进程等bother：打扰，麻烦；一般指造成轻微的不便或烦扰（程度较轻）disturb：打扰，扰乱；一般指打破宁静、秩序或专注的状态（程度较重）2、“星期”还是“虚弱”
weak：虚弱的；差的；淡的--反义词：strong如：weak body 、 weak point 、 weak tea/coffee区分：身体虚弱(weak)，所以需要一周(week)时间修养3、afford与affordable
afford，动词，买得起；负担得起（时间、后果等）We can't afford a new house. 我们买不起新房子。2️⃣afford to do sth. 负担得起做某事She can't afford to pay for the new house.affordable ，形容词，负担得起的，价格合理的
