Cue Card(题目卡):
Describe a piece of electronic product that you are happy to use recently.
You should say:
What it is
When you started using it
How you use it
And explain why you are happy to use it
English Version:
The electronic product I’m really happy to use recently is my noise-cancelling headphones. I bought them about three months ago when I started preparing for the IELTS exam at home.
I use them every day, mainly for two purposes. First, I wear them while listening to English podcasts or doing my listening practice. They help me focus on every single word without any distraction. Second, I use them when I’m studying in a noisy environment — for example, when my son is playing or when I’m on the train.
There are two reasons why I’m so happy with them. Firstly, the noise-cancelling function is excellent. It blocks out almost all background noise, so I can fully concentrate on my study. Secondly, they are very comfortable to wear even for a long time. As a full-time worker and a mother, I often study late at night, and these headphones don’t hurt my ears at all.
In short, this small device has greatly improved my study efficiency and made my IELTS preparation much smoother. I really feel that it was a worthwhile investment.

1. What electronic products are most commonly used by people in your country?
Answer: I would say smartphones are the most common. Almost everyone from teenagers to the elderly owns one. Besides that, laptops and tablets are also widely used, especially for online work and study. In recent years, smart home devices like robot vacuums and smart speakers have become increasingly popular too.

2. Do you think people rely too much on electronic products nowadays?
Answer: To some extent, yes. Many people, including myself, check their phones first thing in the morning and last thing at night. We use them for work, study, communication, and even entertainment. However, I wouldn’t call this a bad thing — it just means we have adapted to a digital lifestyle. The key is to find a balance and not let electronics take over our face-to-face interactions or physical activities.
3. How have electronic products changed the way people study?
Answer: Huge change. In the past, students mainly studied from textbooks and went to libraries. Now, with online courses, educational apps, and digital libraries, they can study anytime, anywhere. For example, I use apps like Duolingo and IELTS-related tools to prepare for my exam. Also, note-taking tools like Notability or GoodNotes have made learning more efficient. However, the downside is that some students get easily distracted by other apps or games on the same device.

4. What electronic products are popular among young children?
Answer: Young children today are often exposed to tablets and smart toys. Many parents use tablets to keep their kids engaged — for example, watching cartoons or playing educational games. Also, smartwatches for kids, which allow parents to track their location and communicate with them, are becoming more popular. But I think parents should set reasonable limits. Too much screen time is definitely not good for children’s eyes or their social development.
